Support for neurodivergent teachers

1-1 Coaching & Mentoring Sessions

Being a teacher can be an extremely rewarding job, however, it also comes with many challenges. Add neurodivergence into the mix and it can almost feel impossible at times, leading you to feel like a failure/not cut out for the job. I have been in that position. I always felt like I was working ten times harder than everyone else and still not managing to get the basic things done. Many neurodivergent teachers that I have spoken to and worked with have expressed similar feelings. This is heart-breaking. Schools need neurodivergent educators; they have so much to offer and a wealth of lived experience to share. I found that with the right support, I was able to put simple strategies in place to make my working day more organised and I was able to self-advocate which made my job much more manageable. You can do the same.
In our sessions together, we can explore some of your challenges at work and learn more about who you truly are, so that we can identify the most appropriate tools to support you in your teaching role and to ensure that appropriate reasonable adjustments have been put in place by your employer.
Sessions will take place online, via Google Meet, so you can feel relaxed taking part in the sessions from the comfort of your own home. If you are local (North Leeds), and you would prefer to meet for a coffee and a chat or a walk and talk instead, this may be an option (please mention preference for this when getting in touch.)
